Touched down in Fort Lauderdale late last night. The humidity was a welcomed hug from arid California. For some reason I immediately search for how long it would take to drive to St. Simons. I long for home but our work is far from over.
Last night I dreamed I was at Mar-a-Lago and I was chasing my cousins kids around as we were setting up for Election Day festivities. Red, White and Blue bunting going up, the band was practicing and an intense game of hide and seek was being played through the hallowed halls. I woke up sort of laughing because my dream was exactly how our family would treat such an event. The trappings, as my mother calls them, never really mattered to us kids. We were just as happy playing in the woods or the beach as we would be running around a beautiful old home. I long for a return to such innocence. I think most of America does as well and in a few hours we will know the faith of our country. A lot of people saying we actually won’t know tonight and I hate that because it means we really are failing at democracy.
At this point I do not think anyone’s mind can be swayed. My hope is that the last four years had motivated some to brave the elements and show up to vote. I am collecting myself this morning and then heading to meet team Kennedy and continue campaigning. We have the Kennedy bus coming and now she has a side kick, a wrapped Cybertruck with alternating workout machines in the bed. Brittany Lindstorm is usually at the helm of the workouts while Kyle Kemper, her husband does the driving. This dynamic duo have spent the last year criss crossing the country supporting Bobby. I want to write a much longer piece on her and Kyle as they fascinate me and I think you will be enthralled as well. Please check out their instagram @Kennedy24Bus I love this photo of them from Virginia this summer. A state we are all hoping turns red.
I’m going to miss these long days, airports and new friends. There is also a feeling of excitement in my bones that I haven’t had for a long time. So many have put themselves aside this election cycle for the greater good and it warms my heart.
As always I could go on and on but need to hit the streets. My favorite polls come out of Vegas, put your money where your mouth is! I’ll be watching Polymarket and handing out Kennedy newspapers. Let’s go America we got this!!
